December 1, 2010

Members present: Maxine Divine, Mary Benson, Carol Scidmore, and Chris Ferguson. Absent: Harlan Hawkins, Martha Carter and John Francisco. Also present: Barb Coward.

Meeting called to order by Maxine Divine at 7:08 p.m.

November 17, 2010 minutes read. Mary Benson made a motion to approve November 17, 2010 minutes. Chris Ferguson seconded the motion. Voice vote and all in favor. Minutes stand as approved

November 2010 treasurer's report not available.

The librarian's report for November was presented. 

OLD BUSINESS:

Library Planning/Dr. Fred Schlipf - Fred will be at Sycamore Library this week

Hearing of Citizens - None.

Per Capita requirements/bylaws and policies - Tabled.

Friends of Cortland Library - Nothing.

Book Club - Nothing.

Fiber Optic/DATA grant - Nothing.

Sign - Nothing.

Budget Issues & Updates - Nothing.

Website/Facebook Fan Page - Nothing to report.

Merger of Library Systems update - Nothing.

Election petitions due Dec. 13-20 at library.

PrairieCat status - Barb Coward attended a meeting today.

LACONI report; November 19th meeting at Orland Park Library - Good meeting. Talking about trends.

Report of conversation with Phil Lenzini - Did not reach Phil.

Levy hearing December 13th @ Town Hall - Barb Coward will attend.

NEW BUSINESS:

Building Fund Levy - Mary Benson made a motion to approve adding Building Maintenance to levy for next fiscal year. Chris Ferguson seconded the motion.  Roll call vote: Mary Benson-aye, Chris Ferguson-aye, Maxine Divine-aye, and Carol Scidmore-aye. Motion carried.

Insurance Levy - Maxine Divine made a moved to add Insurance/Tort to include in levy for next fiscal year. Carol Scidmore seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Mary Benson-aye, Chris Ferguson-aye, Maxine Divine-aye, and Carol Scidmore-aye. Motion carried.

Carol Scidmore made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mary Benson seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
