Members present: Mary Benson, Carol Scidmore, John Francisco, Harlan Hawkins, Martha Carter, and Chris Ferguson. Absent: Maxine Divine. Also present: Barb Coward.
Meeting called to order by Harlan Hawkins at 7:06 p.m.
June 15, 2011 minutes read. Mary Benson made a motion to approve June 15, 2011 minutes. Martha Carter seconded the motion. Voice vote and all in favor. Minutes stand as approved.
June 2011 treasurer’s report reviewed. Carol Scidmore made a motion to approve the expenditures of $22,252.21 for June. John Francisco seconded the motion. Roll call vote: John Francisco-aye, Chris Ferguson-aye, Mary Benson-aye, Martha Carter-aye, Carol Scidmore-aye, and Harlan Hawkins-aye. Motion carried.
July 2011 treasurer’s report reviewed. Martha Carter made a motion to approve the expenditures of $20,919.70 for July. Chris Ferguson seconded the motion. Roll call vote: John Francisco-aye, Chris Ferguson-aye, Mary Benson-aye, Martha Carter-aye, Carol Scidmore-aye, and Harlan Hawkins-aye. Motion carried.
The librarian’s report for May and June was presented. Short discussion was held.
OLD BUSINESS:
Library Planning/Dr. Fred Schlipf – The budget may drop 10% for next year. Could receive $257,000 from levy..
Revised Budget 2011-2012 presented for review. Harlan Hawkins made a motion to approve the Revised Budget 2011-2012. Chris Ferguson seconded the motion. Roll call vote: John Francisco-aye, Chris Ferguson-aye, Mary Benson-aye, Martha Carter-aye, Carol Scidmore-aye, and Harlan Hawkins-aye. Motion carried.
Hearing of Citizens – None.
Per Capita requirements & grant – Governance & Administration checklist reviewed.
Friends of Cortland Library – Not meeting.
Book Club – Water for Elephants movie was a good time. New book is Devil and White City.
Fiber optic/DATA grant – The town is waiving the fee so we may get it before Christmas.
Sign and repair costs – Repair bill for sign is $1,115.60.
Website/Facebook Fan Page - Heather still maintains Facebook fan page.
System merger – Merge is complete. Two systems now exist in entire state.

PrairieCat status & costs – Iowa will be leaving in December. The cost will go up.
LACONI -
Future trustee workshops/legal & financial/coming fall & winter - Trustee workshop will be held September 10 at Sycamore Library.
Summer Reading – Still going well.
NEW BUSINESS:
Summer Sounds phonemic awareness (Teri Pardridge)
Levy for 2011-2012 (in report to Town of Cortland) - $295,000 requested.
Chris Ferguson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Carol Scidmore seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
